Satyajit Ray have started it’s preface saying ”It has started well 1320 Bengali calendar year. In between it had stopped multiple times but every time it came back with it’s new shape, size and contour – Sandesh remained one of the prized possession of our child hood.”
The year, Rabindranath Tagore own his Noble prize, Sandesh had started the same year by Upendrakishore Roy Choudhury and was then perfectly nurtured by his most famous grandson, great Satyajit Ray. Infact, Satyajit Ray with creative brilliance have made Sandesh an outstanding magazine for not only Child mind but for all ages. It has had collection from all genre of Bengali literature be it Stories, Small Plays, Poetry & Poems, Magic, Riddles, Cartoons and what not. Moreover, it was illustrated by none other than Satyajit ray, which made Sandesh a prized possession.
